My humble beginnings as an artist started with graffiti styled art and quickly evolved to airbrushing, back before people did this on computers, this was around 1989. Soon I was painting murals on all sorts of surfaces but mostly walls. I had a mural painting company for 27 years and in that time I completed an industrial painting apprenticeship then in the year 2000 I started working in Vancouver's film industry as a scenic artist, mostly painting but sculpting too. I always said I saw myself as a painter who wants to be a sculptor. While working I film I started making fine art paintings and showing them in 2006. This continued until 2013, the same time I left the film industry. By 2015 I was no longer selling my mural painting skills. I now paint as a practice, for my enjoyment and personal fulfillment..... .....no longer seeking to show or sell my art although I do display it online. Although I mostly oil paint right now I do see myself as a multi medium artist who works with paints, wood, metal, concrete, fabric, fiberglass and many other mediums however in this stage in my life I am exploring traditional mediums. In my usual working process I start with a concept, then decide on the best medium to convey that concept. Sometimes it is a medium I have never worked with before so I will make pieces in that medium in order to learn how to better use it. Going through life learning to master mediums, a fine life indeed.
